Can you tell us more about yourself?
Hello, my name is Dimitar Todorov. 🙋♂️
I am from Petrich, a relatively small city near two borders in Southwestern Bulgaria. I currently work as a backend software engineer at HackSoft. 👨💻
What are you working on and for how long?
My career in the IT sector began in the summer of 2022, when I started as a backend intern at HackSoft.
Now, I have moved up to being a permanent backend engineer at the company and I've been enjoying it ever since. 🙌
What languages have you been using so far?
I began my career working with Python and Django, and then, after some time, moved on to JavaScript and React.
Currently, I am working with PHP using Laravel and JavaScript via Vue.
Why did you decide to join HackSoft?
I received an internship offer from the company, after applying for a backend role. The tech stack that the folks at HackSoft used was right up my alley and I decided to accept it.
This turned out to be the best move I've ever made for my professional advancement. 🙌
What are your hobbies/interests?
Programming has always been a pleasure for me, and I haven't experienced a single dull day at work for the second year in a row!
But I also enjoy an active lifestyle, exercises, nature hikes, and have just regained my love of reading. 🏞️📚
What is something your colleagues don't know about you?
I trained karate for eight years and boxed for three more. 🥋🥊
Do you have a morning routine? What do you do before work?
When I wake up and after I brush my teeth, I either go for a cross-country run in the park or go to the gym, depending on the weather. 🏃♂️
Afterwards, I feel full with energy and ready to start the work day. 💪
What's the most important piece of advice you would like to pass to the junior developers?
It is crucial to highlight the importance of proactive communication, cultivating a collaborative atmosphere in the workplace. 🗣 Be open to ask questions, share ideas and discuss the struggles️ you may face.
Moreover, dedicating a few hours a day for reading will help you in the long-run, as staying updated with industry trends and best practices is essential for personal and professional development. 📖
Lastly, there is no substitute for the invaluable experience gained from spending countless hours in coding, perfecting one's skills. 💻
